    joyfulladyinChrist
joyfulladyinChrist I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7. ...In This verse Apostle Paul's words to Timothy were spoken near the end of his ministry. He was in prison and he was expecting to die soon. He wrote, "For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come" (2 Timothy 4:6). In my walk with Christ some of my old associates seem to think I am inprisoned by my faith. I don't do the thins I did befor I gave my life in Chirst Jesus. And like Paul, most of those associates has deserted me, probably for fear of ending locked up in what they see as my prison. There are 3 things we must do to be a successful Christian as Paul was. He summed everything up in three statements. First, "I have fought the good fight." ... As followers of Christ we are in a war. We are in a spiritual battle. We war in the armor of God as told in Ephesians 6:10-18. Our fight (struggle) is not against man although man is the vessal used to bring forth the attacks. But we fight "against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." And like Paul we must fight not just any fight; but the "good" fight. Because we fight for our Risen Lord, Christ Jesus against the hosts of hell. ...Second, "I have finished the race." The Christian life is a race of sorts, see Acts 20:24. where Paul referred to his desire to finish "my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God." Our lives and ministry must be a race on a course around the known world. We must fight the good fight everywhere we go. ...Finally, "I have kept the faith." During this good fight in the race, we must remain faithful to Jesus and the ministries He has intursted to us. And when our fight is over, and our race is finished, we must have kept the faith. It will then be up to those we ministered to, to follow the examples we showed. ...Paul's message was to Timothy, but it has now become a message to all Christians. ....Father in Heaven, I pray that when my race is over I would have "Fought the good fight, Ran a good race, & Kept the Faith". I pray I follow Paul's example. AMEN! Have a great day in the Lord everone, and know I love you all with the eternal love of our Risen Lord Jesus. ...Have a great day in the Lord GFB. I love you guys with the eternal love of our Risen Lord.

Akiko 14 Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone. 15 See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. 16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 19 Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. 20 Do not scoff at prophecies, 21 but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. 22 Stay away from every kind of evil. 1Thes 5 NLT

    Richard
Richard -"America is another name for opportunity. Our whole history appears like a last effort of divine Providence in behalf of the human race" wrote poet Ralph Waldo Emerson. Born MAY 25, 1803, Emerson was friends with writers Nathaniel Hawthorne and Louisa May Alcott He composed some of the best loved poems in American literature, including The Concord Hymn, written in 1837 for the dedication of the monument where the battle at North Bridge took place April 19, 1775. Emerson's most recognizable stanza is inscribed on the base of Daniel Chester French's Minute Man Statue: "By the rude bridge that arched the flood, Their flag to April's breeze unfurled; Here once the embattled farmers stood; And fired the shot heard round the world. The foe long since in silence slept; Alike the conqueror silent sleeps, And Time the ruined bridge has swept, Down the dark stream that seaward creeps. On this green bank, by this soft stream, We place with joy a votive stone, That memory may their deeds redeem, When, like our sires, our sons are gone. O Thou who made those heroes dare, To die, and leave their children free, -Bid Time and Nature gently spare, The shaft we raised to them and Thee."

God's promises seem to wait for the pressure of pain to trample out their richest juice as in a wine-press. Only those who have sorrowed know how tender is the "Man of Sorrows."

The soul which is always blithe and gay misses the deepest life. But the heart is dwarfed; and the nature capable of the highest heights, the deepest depths, is undeveloped. Life burns down without having known the deepest chords of joy.
